    Question Which version?

Out "location scouting" today and found this abandoned place out off one of the roads cutting through the sugar cane fields, that nature was trying to reclaim. The roots of a Banyan tree had punched through the roof looking for water (Banyans sprout roots off the lowest branches which help to support the tree once they hit the ground and burrow in).

    Re: Which version?

Interesting, I find the second one to be far more unique and creative.

    Re: Which version?

I prefer the top one because I can tell what the subject is. Don't know if it is supposed to but the wall has a green tint to it, Jeff

    Jeff,
That green tint is probably from all the green paint they used on it Here's the whole building:

#2, going away. Abstract and a bit creepy. Alienesque. Very nice treatment.

    Re: Which version?

Jet - Both are neat in their own way. The top one is more detailed, but the bottom one is more moody. The bottom one looks like an effect? Or maybe it's just a lot darker.

One thing that I have to nit pick on is that white spot in the middle foreground. To me it looks like a golf ball. Also, perhaps the DOF could be deeper on these.

    Re: Which version?

The second one looks like something Stephen King might write about, perhaps some sort of bizzare cathederal window, it's my choice anyway.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

    Re: Which version?

    Thanks for the comments, all.
GB, I noticed that white stone just after posting, should have cloned it out ahead of time (or moved it when I was there). The second shot was very highly processed: saturation boost, high pass filter, and the first time I've successfully used a layer with the "subtract" blend mode (that's what turned the background black). I liked both versions for different reasons. Since the votes are tied at 3-3 & 2 votes for both, I guess I'm still stuck in the same place, but that's cool

    Re: Which version?

The top one as I am more into reality shots. Agree with GB that the depth of focus could be deeper.
