    Valentine's bouquet

    Moody, noisy, does it work?

Simple lighting modification with a big square piece of cardboard to make a shadow that the tulip blooms could shine against. I'd have liked to grade it a bit better against the wall rather than that sharp(ish) edge.

    Re: Valentine's bouquet

    Moody-yes. Noisy-yes, does it work?-Yes!

i like the arrangement here, Paul. At first i thought i was unsure about the neg space at top left but since the flowers underneath are viewing up in that direction it seems to justify it.
I love the noise/texture that is here. The out of focus tulip at the top somehow is pleasing. . .moody somehow.
Not crazy about the light hitting the yellow flowers below, i might try to tone that down and mute the color into a more soft yellow.
I think some taller seedheads flowering up into the empty space at top might help as well, but overall i like the mood and texture in the noise here.

Excellent. Don't care for the dark band across the top, but that's about it.

very nice paul. like a classic painting. the noise actually adds to that feel. I agree about the dark band on top, u can easily get rid of that.

    Re: Valentine's bouquet

I like the use of noise in this shot. I would maybe try to get rid of or replace the lower yellow flower with a red one, just to make the central yellow flower pop more. But that might be my photo and not yours.

I think it works Paul, but I would crop out the blank top area. No particular flower grabs my attention in this one, but I think the overall composition says "Bouquet" which is a good thing.
