    bride's bouquet

Photo was taken at my friends wedding back in June. I had my camera sitting on the table which was filled with candles and the lights dimmed. So I snapped off a few pics and this one caught my eye.. Let me know what everyone thinks or what could be improved.

It seems pretty good, but you don't want so much unfocused landscape. The left and top are visually important. Pull up the bottom and sacrifice as much of the right as you can stand to pull the roses down and off center. Then wrap it in a bow and ship it.

I like the creativity of the shot. First thing I noticed is the white balance is off and could use some work. I would also suggest at least cropping the bottom off up to the edge of the table, Jeff

    Re: bride's bouquet

Why is the white balance off?
    It's candlelight !
It has a yellowish colour to the flame that I would expect to give a yellow cast.

For me, it's the out of focus dark elements that are intrusive.
On the right, and the 5 leaves at the top.

Goes to show what I know :blush2: ....... I always thought white flowers were supposed to look white and the rest of the colors should be true also. If I don't have to worry about color balance then I guess I can skip shooting in RAW and save some memory space. I have taken candle lite weddings before and still wanted the brides dress to come out white, regardless how it was being lite, Jeff

I actually like how the white balance is in this photo. Kind of gives an antique look. I like the framing on the left/top, but the spot on the bottom right is a tad distracting. I don't think it takes too much from the photo though. I like it! :]

Well yes, if you want the wedding dress white, then you've got to make serious colour adjustments.
But did it look white to you at the time?
This photo looks to me like a candle lit shot, because of the colour.
Take that away and what's left of the mood that light carries?

Careyl2, would you mind if I re post your picture and show you what I am talking about? I think you can retain the candlelit effect and still get the colors closer to what they were originally. I would also like to say it again that I think this is a nice creative shot, Jeff

I have to agree with Jeff, yes it is candle light, but it's also waaay to warm. I don't think you want to go all of the way toward white, but definitely less orange.
