Very nice way to isolate the subject, especially with so many people around him. He has a great expression too. I do question the centering. It seems like there is a lot of space that he is looking at with no clue as to what he might being staring at. Did you pose him or was this spontaneous?
What if it were cropped just to the left of the two posts. This removes those with their backs to us and magnifies that those walking toward us are also somewhat looking where the main subject is looking. - Terry
