Turkey day walk along the river

My girlfriend and I took the dog for a little walk to try to burn off some of that Thanksgiving day turkey. I snapped these along the way. I played around with them a bit just for something to do. What do you think?

Oh gosh, for me the last one is oustanding. The other three are a bit ordinary. I like the way you tried to highlight the bit of color and desturate the rest and you have the person in just the right spot, but it seems too forced.

Anyway, the last one is why we have postcards, so you can share views like that.

I personally love 2 and 4. 2 is always a great way to draw attention to a subject a person normally wouldn't notice as the main subject, so you did a graet job with that. The last one is also great, a nice contrast of brown colors with green grass.

Michael--I like the top one, and really don't have anything "bad" to say about that one. In the second and third ones a branch intrudes on the picture on the left side, and kind of draws my peripheral vision. Is there a bird stretching its wings there near the center of the third picture? The bottom shot would have been really great if those homes hadn't been there, but what can you do?

Thanks everyone for the comments! This post has been up for over a year, without a single comment, and now all this.

I never even gave that branch on the left a 2nd thought when I took this, and I know I would take notice of things like this now. I don't think that is a bird in the 3rd image, but I have no clue what it might be.

I think it's great to go back and look at our older work with a fresh eye. I have learned so much since these images were taken and it's great to be able to go back and look at them and figure out what I did and how I would improve the images.

I like the top (first) photo the best. The second was a nice expt but to me it didnt work. The third shot has no subject, no real interest pt. The bottom shot is very nice - however, it is also missing a subject (too bad there's not a little boat on that waterway).

Sure looks like T-day time!
