    Tundra Swans

These swans are migrants, on their way from James Bay to the Cape Cod area. They often collect by the several hundreds stopping long enough for a rest and food before continuing on their journey. They will continue to pass through until cold weather freezes the lake. (St. Clair) For a few other views check out the gallery:

I like the motion in this image. The right side of the picture shows a bit dark my monitor (me and monitors...) but overall the colors and sharpness seems effective.

    Re: Tundra Swans

    Frank,
Maybe my monitor is set too bright. I reduced the brightness of this image in ps and perhaps I shouldn't have. The Swan on the far right is a juvenile and as such has darker feathers and a red bill. I wonder if this contributes to the difference from right to left on your monitor.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.

    Re: Tundra Swans

This is a nice pic. It is nicely exposed (the feathers are dirty white, no blown up highlights) and sharp (I particularly like the texture of the water). The composition is good and succeeds in keeping the eye of the viewer inside the frame. I wish the two rightest swans would not merge as they do on this pic, but otherwise it's a keeper.

I do not have any problem with the darkness or brightness of this scene. But then my monitor is a little bit on the bright side....

    Cheers,

    Steph.
