    Trying out my extension rings

After I figured out how to un-attach the ring from the lens, I tried it. Of course the extension rings really reduce light input. I needed my speedlight to illuminate the subjects. It was also very hard to see well enough to focus. But on some elementary easy subjects I got some interesting results. Here three rings (about 1 3/8 inches of extension) were used.

Re: Trying out my extension rings

I loved the rings I used with my Pentax Spotmatic film camera(years ago). You do loose a lot of light and focusing can be a challenge. Tripod and rings for ouside and bellows/focus rails/ring combo indoors where you have more control of your inviornment. If this is your first exposure to rings, stay the course, they can really expand the experience. Love and envy the way you approach your photography.
