    Tiptoe...

My final Orton Imagery post (for a while at least! )

This is a shallow DOF shot of my neighbors beautiful tulip garden from early spring. I then used the digital Orton Imagery technique from this web site: http://www.naturephotographers.net/a.../dw0106-1.html

I like the 3D look that is has. Please let me know how you like it!

    Re: Tiptoe...

    Hey Marty,

I'm a big fan of this technique, and I have posted a shot using it myself in the not so distant past. But I feel that it can be overdone very quickly, kinda like a fisheye lens. It's great for some shots, but for others it just doesn't add anything to the image. That's the feeling I'm getting from this image. Yeah, the technique is nice, but I don't feel it's adding a lot to your image. It is adding something tho, but not enough to make the shot stand out for me. For me, there are too many distracting elements to the photo to begin with. The OOF grass in the FG and the house in the BG are what turn me off. Perhaps a different angle could help remove them, or a tighter crop? I know that's not always an option tho.
