Three Golden Gate Bridge Shots.

Went to SF Yesterday.

Some shots from the presidio area.

I figured that there were so many others taking pictures of the bridge, I would add my own anyway, but try to get some less common shots.

I did auto levels in the first and second ones in Fireworks MX, and rotated the first one...I was standing on a slope so it was somewhat crooked

I like the second one a lot, I kinda wish you had gotten a bit more rock into the shot to "complete" the story of what's going on in that lower left corner. Right now we get a hint of it but I'd like to see it more like the third one ... in the third one I love the action on the rocks but I like the angle of the bridge less (if you compare the two).

Thanks, if I'm there again I'll probably do that with the second one. Now that I see all that empty blue sky in it..gahh.

I bet I got some good ones with my AE1s wide angle lens though.

I agree with Kelly about the second one. That's definately a great shot, and is nice work compositionally. Beautiful colors in all of them, and i love how the bridge slowly fades out.

Mr Yuck, I like what you've done here, but I think you missed a lot of the amazing colors you can capture when you're photographing the GG Bridge. I like to shoot it with my polarizing filter to really make the bridge and sky around it pop. If you strip all that nasty UV light out of the image of the bridge, you get a surprisingly pretty color and a much more dramatic image.
Compositionally, however, I think you've done some really nice work here. Next time let's see some pics from the Baker Beach side...

When I get a Filter adaptor for my AE1... I'll use a UV filter. (of course it will be a long time because I use my film camera minimally since film costs $$)

which one is baker beach?

I think next week im going to SF Area, on the north side of the bridge I think, cant remember what the park on the northeast side is called.

We've all seen alot of pictures of this bridge. Most a standard views of the bridge from higher angles or a low angle with not much foreground interest.

For me, I really like the one with the waves crashing on the rocks. I have never seen a picture of the Golden Gate bridge with this element added. It adds a nice touch. I also like the second one with the chain fence. I agree with other posts that it needs more of the rock.

First and last are my picks. I love the angle inwhich you shot the last, and the odd curve of the bridge... because it really isn't straight (I believe it allows for 27 feet of sway)... and I am a fan of the peeking bridge... as it reminds me of approaching a familiar place. (Kellybean did one last summer that I felt exactly the same way about).
#2 is great as well, however it just doesnt hit me the same as the first and last.
