    thoughtful model

Just scanned in a pic I took a few yrs ago. It seems thoughtful, but I wonder if it's too distant? comments appreciated - Gb

Too distant, no... I don't see it that way. I do like the feeling of the shot, but the thing that gets me is her hair. For this, it seems that too much of it fell infront of her face blocking out her look. Even had you been able to see one eye clearer, that would have helped with the overall appearance. The wind doesn't always cooperate though.....

    Re: thoughtful model

She is obviously an attractive girl, and I do like the silvery background. However, I do think it's important in a portrait not to obscure the eyes (or at least one of them!) unless there are particular creative reasons for doing so. Had the hair not obscured her eye, the photo would have been a cracking one.

I too agree with the hair, other then that this would've been a great shot.

    Re: thoughtful model

Thanks for the comments, everyone Yeah, I think it's at too sharp an angle... probably 45 degrees would be ideal. The eyes pointer is much appreciated. I think unless it's a hair advertisement or something, the eyes are pretty critical.

Here's a few other shots of her. Seems like each pic has it's own merit.
