    Texture

    I am teaching myself how to play with texture layers and would like and C&C on what you all think- What could I do differently, or am I on the right track?

    i think the top image is great!

    the bottom, seems to have blown highlights , the texture looks fine to me

    Both are amazing works of art. I wouldn't be too worried that they depart from photography into design or art ... one could make a strong argument that this is a very good thing.
