    Re: First time....

I think the pose and the composition is great. I'm not much into this type of post production work, but you did a nice job overall. Only thing that bugs me is the left arm. For some reason the arm leaving the shot and coming back into it doesn't work for me. The cute look and the catchlight in her eyes is great.

Beautiful subject, pose and lighting, but I would like it better if her arm was not cropped.

Not my kind of portrait, but its very well executed. The only thing that my picky side says is that a different background color will look better and to be careful with that halo or aura around the subject,.

    Re: First time....

The aura around the subject was my first negative thought and then the left arm.

However, my first impression was very positive and I like the effect and lighting..

Those mischievous eyes belie this little cherub! I do like this effect. I love the red and golds of the girl, but I don't care for the muddy background color and especially the "missed" spot at the crook of her elbow. The halo thing is very distracting. I really like your lighting on her face. Very creative! Looking forward to more from you!

    Re: First time....

Very nice job on the PP but I agree about the arm and missed background spot. I think if you took a little off the left to remove the upper arm/blue area and a bit off the top to maintain the aspect ratio this shot would be phenomenal. Great first post, and welcome to the forums!

    Re: First time....

I don't care for the halo or the right arm. I would like you to consider cropping from just above the white band going across the dress down to the bottom of the frame off and see what you think. To me this photo also has to much going on and is distracting. I think this crop would make this photo much more focused on the subject, less busy, and in turn make it much more appealing, Jeff

I forgot to put one very important piece of information in my reply..... I think this is a great photograph and you did a very nice job.

I like how you set the lighting and the pose is great, but a different background color wold be better, and her left arm being cropped is a turn off. Other than those two things the photo is well executed.

I love the image, but the prominent halo around her head and body gots to go.
