First Unofficial Portrait

This is more of a candid shot than an actual planned portrait, but I like the way it came out. What are your thoughts? Only editing was a touch of USM.

A tad too tight with the crop for me. Besides that, a nice side view and great colors.

I like the feel and it is a bit tight. If you were positioned a little more to the left we could have seen both eyes and a little more of the wonderment look. Go for the 2/3 look, that is two eyes and at least one ear, I think you'll be surprised how much it opens up the face.

Thanks all for the comments! MJS, once I was able to look at this on my monitor, the 2/3 image was the first thing that popped into my head. If only I would have gotten that other eye... Thanks for confirming what I already expected.

You caught a childlike aura here. It's probably too much in profile and too cropped, but sometimes it's good to have portrait that doesn't look like every other one out there.

I agree that the crop was a little tight and should be opened at little. The DOF is fine.

I will choose to disagree on the cropping I like it but the comment about the eye I agree with and one other minor comment is the neck line of his shirt encroches on the bottom right which is a little distracting for the type of crop.

I really do like the focus and the detail you can make out and the expression of the chap.

Knowing boys and how quickly they move you did well to get this.
