Dont know where they came from must have been my GF. It was very overcast when i took these shots Without a tripod ut I think they came out ok What do you guys think.

    Re: Some Orchids

I really like the second one (your favourite) because of the lightning, focus point and DOF. But for the other ones well - I would like to have the yellow "stuff" in focus in the first pic plus I find the background a bit disturbing there. I can't make up my mind about the third one - I do like it but there is something bothering me :/ I think I find it a bit to dark. For my part the composition of the fourth one is great just way to dark, if the flower is supposed to be the main thing it needs more light! The fifth one works very well for me, if you could blurr the background a bit more then that would help. I can't really say anything about nr.6 - I don't see anything in that pic. And then again in the 7th I would like to have those yellow things in the front in focus. I don't know if it just me but usually I get very distracted i the things in the front are not in focus. But those are just my opinons ;) The colors of the flower are just beutiful as for the flower itself. Maybe it would have added a bit more to "make the flowers wet", would have "fitted" the dark sky? Sorry about my bad english!

nice job, you cannot center frame pictures, it makes the picture boring and plain, but the one u have framed in the black is the best, its just good, but if u have 100 of that frame of different flowers it gets boring,

    Some Orchids

Thanks for the comments guys as always it is much appreciated. It was a very overcast day, and I did not want to use the flash, but I understand that most of the pics are to dark, I'll try to reshoot them when a sunny day comes along. Anyway thanks for the Tips, and keep on shooting.

twisztad... You really have a good camera, it's clear from the quality of your photos. I like the second shot with that little bit of light coming through in the center. I also like the one that's framed, though I don't like the framing in black much. The shot with the three is also attractive and if the backgound was out of focus it would be even better. The Flowers are gorgeous, you're right. They may look a bit better on here if you made them a little smaller. Because they are so huge and ' in your face ' , it's kind of hard to look at them at such a close distance. Plus the brilliant color also makes it hard to look for any amount of time. Now if they were printed and huge and on a huge wall, that would be different.

The overcast day is the best for taking pics of flowers and I know what you mean by natural light, but try using a reflector to aim some of that light back at the flower, or fill flash. Good Job.

Hi - I have to admit a mistake Those pics aren't so dark at all - I just didn't realize how dark my screen at work is. So the lightning is actually good though some pics could use a bit more - a reflector is a great idea. But I still think that a bit of water on some of the shoots could make a difference.

Good work.Keep in mind that we are asked to only post no more than 5 images a day or at any one time. You will get more comments for one good pic than posting a whole series.
