    Some more Distillery!

Here is another shot from the Distillery District in Toronto. And while I am at it, here is the link to my related post in the viewfinder: A day in Toronto (the Pikto Gallery and such...)

Nice composition, everything just seems blurry for me. Love the colors.

Thanks for pointing this out. The sharpening was off. I replaced the original picture.

Love the colors and the composition on this image. I much prefer it over the first posted photograph. Snow at the bottom comes off much better in this photo. My only question is do you need it at all to have an effective image?
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I am missing the sense of your question though (sorry about that!).

My comment wasn't very clear. What I meant to say is I think that the image would be just as powerful or even more so without including the snow at the bottom.

I like this one much better than the first. I agree with Old Timer, though... I think it would be more powerful with the snow cropped off at the bottom. The colors and the composition are great, however.

Love the colors and the brickwork in this one. The fact that the right edge of the green things is cut off is a too bad. Just a hair more! I can't decide whether I like the new brick next to the old or not either. Maybe I need to have some spirits and not be so anal! Funny, the snow doesn't seem to bother me at all.

I was also wondering if you looked at this in B&W (maybe with a little color thrown in for the window and box?) Brick always seems to look nice in B&W.

    Nice photo Seb!

Seb, this is not bad, but personally i liked the first post from the Distillery District. The color contrasts are nice here though.

    Thanks guy for further commenting.

FadderUri: I kinda thought that the snow add a little something but thanks for voicing your opinion.

2k2s: Yeah, the right edge annoy me too. The thing is that I framed rather tight assuming that I wouldn't work much on the picture afterward. However, I had to correct lense distortion much more than I assumed in post processing. I lost the right edge in the process. I'll shoot more losely the next time that a similar situation occurs. I tried the shot in b&w and didn't felt so good about it. I think that the colors are important here.

Gary: Is there anything specific that you don't like about the shot or is it just that you don't really feel this one??? I always appreciate your honnesty and I would like to hear more from you.

    regards

    Seb

    Re: Some more Distillery!

To be clear, it is good and I do like it but it does not impact me the same way as the others you have posted. I think I find that the compositions you do while standing back far from subjects and scenes as these have a sort of signature style of composition that has become yours and it is very effective, for me personally. I remember a few months ago you posting a shot of a building with its outside stairs. . .and also remember there being another of a wall or building that was taken from further back. However, with this shot I find nothing wrong with, only that it does not strike me as strong as the others. But it still is a good fit of shots from that Distillery District.

Thank you for your explanation Gary. I see what you mean.
