    Slow Water

With plenty of suggestions and experiments, my husband and I finally figured out how to get this effect. How did I do?
    Thanks,

    Re: Slow Water

Not bad! The water is very soft, so I'm sure you used a very slow shutter speed.

For improvements, I think the leaves and branches are a little soft themselves, maybe the wind was blowing? Seems that if you used the smallest f-stop possible (eg f 22) that most everything would have been in focus, but there's not much you can do if it's breezy, except try another time or day.

I think I would have stepped back and gotten a little more of the surroundings into the photo. The green on white looks nice so I would have emphasized that even more.

While it looks nice it also seems a little too contrasty. If you have a digital manipulation application (like Photoshop) you might want to try editing it a bit to see if you can get some of the middle areas to come out.

    Re: Slow Water

You did get the effect of slow water , but something is missing here . Is this the full image or did you crop it to just get the frozen water effect in the photo ? Maybe you could show a little more foliage to the right or left . But i will say this you did succed at what you set out to do
