    Siege of Bridgeport

Here are a couple shots of the Calvary in action during the civil war re-enactment at Bridgeport, AL this past weekend. Do either of these work for you?

    Comments appreciated.

    Hey Eagle Eye,

Thanks for posting. Your photos do a good job of showing me something I've not yet seen. Was it dangerous to be out there on the field with a camera?

I'm not a expert, but both shots seem to be face-centered compositions. The horse's legs are thus cut off in the image. I think the images would be more powerfull if the entire horse and rider were in the frame. The rule of thirds may have worked here.

    Cheers,
    Tim

    Re: Siege of Bridgeport

Jared, Knight and Tim, I appreciate you taking time to critique my action shots. Tim, I’m certainly not an expert at photography but I enjoy the heck out of it. I was never in any danger during the battle. All spectators and photographers could not venture beyond a certain lines. However, the Calvary came very close to me at times. I have looked at all my photos of the Calvary action shots and none show all of the horse’s legs. Being a Civil War buff, I guess I was leaning toward detail of the horse and rider. Thanks again for the suggestion and I appreciate the opportunity to learn from everyone that participates in this forum.

    Dudley
