I can't stop looking at this but I can't put my finger on why. It looks almost surreal - like it's a movie set. The lighting changes throughout the scene is what gives it this feeling for me. My only nit-pick is the slight hotspot in the center - clouds and tree branches. Overall it effectively puts me in the scene, I can almost feel the breeze.

I love Bridgeport and I think this is a great photo. I also think Iguanamom's comment about the hotspot is right on. I do find that I'm getting sucked into the middle of the photo and stuck there.

I'd really like to see this large and in print. Since you're shooting 4x5 I know they must be beautiful in print. Plus, I feel like I'm just getting a glimpse of what's actually in this photo. I think I see frost and I know that would be so rich and crunchy looking in a nice silver print.

ner, I'm happy to have you posting on this forum. For most purposes I think digital SLRs are more than adequate. But for landscape, I still love large format. And I love that you're doing your own processing and printing. That's how it should be done. If you're gonna be a holdout you might as well do it right and squeeze the most out of it. And I think you're doing that.
