    self-portrait

i took this picture in my grandmother's garden, and i thouht it might make a cool series of themed photographs. before i take that step, though, i need some advice on how to make these pictures better. should i try and tripod it so it will just be me in the globe without my camera, or do you think the camera in the picture is kind of fun? im undecided. trying to make the tripod hidden would be another challenge.

also what about the picture itself (dof, etc.). the sharpness of this picture doesn't look so great, and im not sure exactly why...its as if there is a musky film over the entire picture. oh well...suggestions, please. i think this would be a fun little project for me

i took this with a nikon n80 and an nikon 50mm f/1.8D lens.

I think this would prove to be an interesting photo project idea, as there are lots of opportunities for such shots. I like this, though the colors seem to be a bit flat and it looks to be a little dark. One more suggestion would be to get closer, if possible. Fill the frame a little more with that ball and leave out some of those leaves and other background elements. Oh and as for the camera, if you are going to do a project, have the camera in front of your face for some and not for others.
