I prefer the second shot. the first just looks like it is missing something to me. I feel that I get the complete feeling of searching in the second shot, Jeff

I did a reply this morning but kept getting a 'server too busy' pop up
What I said and still say is that the second is better but I would like it more if you cropped it just above where the tracks converge to just above or at the palm tree.
Then maybe clone out what's left of the buildings and fence.
To me the second photo gives my eyes somewhere to search in. If it were cropped at the point the tracks converged at it would not give me any room for my eyes to search in but would give me more of a feeling of the question of what is he looking at, just like the first photo does. In the first one I can see everything in the photo and the second one, if cropped, would essentially be the same thing of having everything in site like the first photo. I don't know what he is searching for but whatever it is there are many places that he could search for what he is looking for which to me makes the photo interesting and gets me to wondering not only what he is searching for but also where it might be, Jeff

I guess I may not be seeing what others are seeing but I see no point to the first picture, no matter what the the name was. On the other hand I think the second one, as is, works well with the title you gave it. Just my opinion and I'm sticking to it, Jeff

Thanks, I appreciate that. I can see what you mean about the second one and it makes me appreciate it more.
I like them both in different ways, but maybe a crop somewhere between them would work best. The more recent posting/edit is OK but not having the distance in the photo hurts it IMO. Not sure what this is supposed to symbolize? Seems that it is trying to, I just don't know what.

The guy in the picture is a struggling musician. The only tools he knows how to utilize best is his guitar. He plays mellow music at banquets, weddings and any party looking for mellow music in the background. He is gaining steam and I am doing some of his photography for his websites.
To me- This picture is just the part of his life. He has been searching for the right path. It seems like he is on it but you can never be sure.
Ahh. Maybe if he were holding the guitar .. That would be a cool shot
