    Scenic Photo

What do you think about it? Taken in Ireland this past Summer. Using a Cannon Power Shot S400 (I think that is what it was called).
Thanks for looking and any comments appreciated.

I like the scene, but I sort of feel that the foreground is a bit messy...My eyes focus on the fencepost, and everytime I try and explore the rest of the scene, the post keeps pulling my eyes back to it. But that may be just me. But my main concern here is the lack of contrast and depth. I really quickly played with it in photoshop, adjusting the curves to get more contrast in the mountains and getting ride of the haze over the dunes and beach. You'll probably have to be careful about how much PP you do to it though, as this image (much like the one's taken by my own Powershot S230) do not stand up well to a lot of PP. After some contrast and levels adjustments, the blues totally block up...

I'm with DB5 on this one. I'm not a huge fan of the post and the wire leading from the post to the left. I like the idea of having a forground object to add some depth to the photo, but I think the post is a little to abtrusive. I think the rock wall would have done just fine for this, without the post in it.

I don't mind the post, I do mind the barbed wire that is on the left of it though, if you cloned that out I think it would be alright. Nice view, and I agere with downbyfive's color adjustment.

    Nice shot,

To complicate things some more I'd say that I do not mind the post, nor the wires. They just doesn't distract me. What I don't like in the shot is the rocks and plants in the lower foreground. I feel that this specific part of the picture is too busy.

Overlooking that aspect of your picture, I can only say that you captured a very pleasing scene. I really enjoy how every elements fall into place. Also, DownbyFive post processing looks right to me.
