    Is it scary?

I was just fooling around with the camera this evening, but I found this shot interesting. I am curious as to what c&c this will bring up, if any.
As a note, I have collected toys in the past and I would like to combine that interest with my interest in photography.

Scary? Meh. If I do say so myself, I have a good example of scary in a viewfinder thread in which I used a lot of shadow and an aging filter.
    mostly Nikon gear

I'm not sure I'd say this is scary, but it is a great shot! The backdrop is fantastic and I like the crop. Nicely done.

add lighting below the neck and point it upward... turn off the lights to get rid of those HAPPY colors... then it would look scary

    exactly like this...

    Re: Is it scary?

I think my title has misled my intention. Its sorta rhetorical, it should have been more like, "so, this is scary?". You know, you take one thing that usually has an emotive response and then you make it something else.
But thanks for the comments and PhilF I will try that technique. I just didn't want to show the flaws that pointed out that it was a toy.

The scariest thing is that he looks like I feel.

A great shot, arne, If your intention was for the viewer to see Frank in a different light - a gentler, more contemplative monster - then excellent job indeed. I see what you were trying to do and I think you achieved it.

    Re: Is it scary?

More dramatic than scary.. I'm undecided if clipping off the chin is a good thing or bad. The narrow DOF is different - again, not sure if it's good or bad. Looks a bit processed and I think it works. Nice composition.
