Great capture of speed! I like the composition and the way the bush balances the picture. There is a distracting round shape in the bush about even with the level of the windows on the right side. It might be something behind the bush or a strange shaped branch. If you could reposition to eliminate it, I think it would improve the shot.

    Great work!

Wow! I bet that was scary. Especially if it was going as fast as you portrayed it. Great idea and congrats on carrying through with it.

Perhaps it's my monitor but I would like to see it a bit darker with more contrast.

    Look forward to your reshoot.

thanks, i actually had the tripod set up for the train to come on the opposite side, which was around a curve, and it wouldve looked real nice, but when the bells rang i looked and saw it was coming the opposite way, so i had to reposition the tripod and redo everything in a couple of seconds. :mad2:

I really like the blur here. I think your Shutter speed is perfect! But wish there was something different on the left side, like a few people gawking or something. Or maybe a woman doing a pre-planned jump up into the air, etc.

We have some tracks right next to the ocean here... I've wanted to do a shot like this but the train engineers really get edgy if you're anywhere near the track - toot their loud horns, etc. Guess I can't blame em

Oh - maybe their calls to get one of those radio operated shutter releases. That way you can leave it on a tripod pretty closeby and fire it from a safe distance (!!!)

G'day Mark,,,I agree with GB...The motion blur of the train is fantastic but the trees on the left let the image down some what...My focus went straight to the train and wandered off to the left anticipating something more exciting there but went back to the train a bit disappointed..Great idea though..
