Great picture, and I love the bark texture running through on this pic. The one thing I don't really like is the border fade to picture idea. I think just a regular border would work fine.

    Just my two cents,

A good one this really set off by the fact that you included the tree behind . Perhaps a little contrast and colour saturation needed and I am not a fan of the soft edges on this one.
    Great potential with this one.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan

I like the composition of this shot but the frame is not doing it any justice it seems to hurt my eyes when looking at it.

It needs a bit of a boost - contrast as already suggested

Here's a variation incorporating some of the suggestions. Thanks for the comments.

Just curious as to whether those who dislike the feathered border don't like it with this photo or generally? For future reference you know. And if generally why you don't care for them?

    Thanks-CDP

I think the feathered frames look good around portraits of people pets, weddings, etc.

Around subjects like this definately no feathered borders.

The picture still looks a bit light on my monitor have you adjuested the contrast?
