    Rustic Jungle

Caught this ancient piece on the beach. All thoughts are welcome.

    Re: Rustic Jungle

Interesting shot Nina. Love the title, very fitting. The one thing that bugs me about this shot is the darkness on the left hand side. It goes from nice blue sky and water to that harsh, shadowed area and metal. I think a crop right by the middle whole or even the two holes on the right would do just great.

    Nice shot, neat area,

    Hi,
Intersting pattern. I agree with Jared about the darkness on the left. I would like to see more detail. Good attempt.

    Re: Rustic Jungle

This is a very interesting subject, I love these kind of shots. There are several things within the shot that could be good subjects on their own. If this is nearby, I'd suggest some different angles to try and isolate some of the features . Maybe a low angle closer to those ribs to get them rising dramatically into the sky. Those ribs have nice shadows as well and a higher viewpoint a little to the left of this one might get both the shadows and the ribs. Those half buried pipes are also very interesting to me and I'd like to see them isolated and maybe peek into them a bit more.
    Good work.

I like the subject as well, and the shadows on the sand and scatterd about the ruins make this interesting. I would agree about the dark area on the left, perhaps if the sun were just still under that piece it would have been really good. As Chunk stated, there are lots of images potentially in this one area and a good reason to go back for more. Nice

I agree with everyone on the dark area. Unfortunately, my timing was way off and I had decided to take this shot a couple of hours after I had entered the area. I do plan on going back and making s few more attempts at a different time of day and I will be experimenting with different angles. I Thank you all for your suggestions.

    Hi Nina,

I really like this image. I do agree with the others that the dark left corner is distracting and would play with different crops. Also, the horizon doesn't see quite level. But, I just like the image non-the-less. It's fun to stare at for a while.
