    Re: Rockpool

    Hey, Jurgen

You know I stared at this picture for about 2 minutes trying to think of some useful feedback. Aside from the fact that it is a little "hot" (but it was a bright day and I can appreciate that), I can't put my finger on it. It's pretty and nice but I can't get a story to form in my mind. Maybe there is too much foreground? Other than to create depth, does the foreground relate to the bird?

Sorry I can't be more specific. Hope you understand.

I think an hdr composition would have allowed more details in the sky which would have finished off a nice shot

    Re: Rockpool

Loupey pointed out the compositional problems well. From the technical side, I would have either replaced the sky or toned it down and experimented with a polarizer plug-in for photoshop. Selectively bringing up some of the lost detail in the dark rocky areas would help a little too.

On the other hand, your decision on technical fixes must be based on whether you think that it is worth the time and effort.
