    Re: riders wanted [image]

This photo has a little bit too much going on to be truly effective. It really has no focal point that will hold the interest of the eye.
I would try to reshoot this with some kid's on it (it would ruin your title tho ;) ).
Or try to get closer to one of the animals to get a better subject and less distraction.
Technically this shot looks good, it just needs something to focus on.

    Cheers.

Ways to improve this shot: First, get rid of the fence in the foreground. It kills the image. At least user a larger aperture to make the fence lose focus. Then crop the horses more tightly, getting rid of the center support structure of the carousel. Finally, walk around the place and see if you can find a less distracting background. Good luck!

You could have also gotten up close to the horse with a wide lens.
That way you could have gotten a few of the other horses and some of the ride itself.
Welsome to PR.com by the way, if I haven't already extended a welcome to you.

This should definately be a one horse town! I find the competition for attention here to be too much, this pic can't hold a candle to your still life creations. Try focusing in on just one horse even if you miss the merry-go-round people can get the feeling from the colors of the individual horse.

    Todd,

Just prety much what other people said. You need a definate focal point, but other than that, I like it. Nice shot and almost there for a great shot!
