    I took these about an hour after it stopped raining, in the morning.

    Now I like the first one primarily because there is more foreground in focus than in the second image. I also like the overall warmer colors in the first image as compared to the second.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Very nice lighting. Especially the top photo. I think I would increase contrast just a little. I'm also not sure that a black border is the best choice, but it doesn't seem bad either. Nice work

    To me they lack the zing that you would have gotten had you been a little closer to the drops and blurred out the background some more.

    The 2nd one needs to be rotated 90 degrees clockwise.

    GB1: I can never decide what border to use and in the end i always choose black ( I'm not adventurist enough!) can you recommend a border color that would work?
