Interesting shot with a nice DOF.
Now I must say that the shot lacks strength IMO.. for me at least the subject is not interesting.
Also the proportion of the crop does not aid. Maybe showing more to the right will change this drastically. Hope that helps.

Great use of DOF. I like the play of light in the photo, and I find the red frayed whatever interesting - makes you wonder why somebody marked the spot.

    Re: Railroad Bridge

If the second post would have been the point of focus then my attention would have been pulled into the picture some instead of stopping at the front edge of the frame. This would have made a few of the beams in focus also and made it a more interesting shot. Also a little wider shot might have given us something that would actually let us know what kind of bridge this actually is instead of you having to tell us. I am going to go against the other opinions and say that the DOF is just to small, leaving too much of the shot OOF. Maybe moving your focus point farther in may have taken care of this problem. Just my thoughts, for what it might be worth, Jeff

    Re: Railroad Bridge

I have been back to this several times and I agree that there is not enough to capture the interest for long and the story seems to be missing.

A little more DOF on the wire on the left of the post could have made this so much better.

The wool needs to pop a lot more as it should be the focal interest. At the moment it is so subdued by the other colours and brightness that it is overwhelmed and lost to the viewer, who will not wait to find it.

    Hope that rambling is clear.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I think a title change would be in order for sure. I just got ps elements but have not used it yet and would like to make the red fabric pop more.
    thanks
