oh... oops, I haven't watched TV since the Olympics started... no wonder.. lol

I like the shot, I like the tight crop and the facial expression ( good timing on your part!) It almost is as if he is concentrating and sad all at the same time, either that or bored, but nonetheless, i like it - probably because it could be so many things he was feeling/thinking at that time. I like the bright colors as well, good shot overall!

With due respect to Mr. Hamm (who has earned it), my first thought was: Yes, he does look like Paul Hamm and he's probably about the same height. ;)

Nice series of photos -- it must be tough to get their faces lit so nicely with the helmets creating shadow. I wonder on this one, though, if you wan tthe team inforamtion so prominently displayed. Does it take attention away from his face?

As you post more, it would be intersesting to see a few with more context.

Your right! I never really thought about it before, but know when I look at his face all I see is the team info on the helment. Nothing a little PS won't take care of.

I think you wouldn't notice the team info so much if the eyes were sharper.

I kinda don't like it without the team info because the helmet is still more prominent than the face, it's a very large expanse of shiny blue plastic.

To improve the shot you need to have clarity of the eyes.

Ha! I don't drive 30 minutes to go to the grocery store. Well, not usually, although there are quite a few specialty stores out his way, organic markets and cheese, wine and fruit stores. I get to the town next to his quite regularly.

But never fear, I won't tell. Besides, if I went up to him and say "Hey, a lava lamp thinks you're short!" ... um, I think I'd come across as a crackpot.
