    Portrait Shot

    Hi

A couple recent shots that I took of the G/F and her kids - using a Nikon D300, 70-200mm DX VR F2.8 - thoughts and comments greatly appreciated.

Nice shots. Really like #2. Great poses, good feeling, and good exposure and clarity.

I like #2 & #3. I would suggest leaving more room at the top of both pictures. If you decide to frame them you may loose some of the picture under the matt or frame, Jeff

Have your thought about B and W for number 1 and 3 ?

    Re: Portrait Shot

in #2, it really bothers me that the faces are straight but the background is not. it's minor, it just distracts me from the photograph. Otherwise I like it a lot

#1 is a good picture, I like that you're pretty much at the children's height. I would crop away the red newspaper stand or whatever in the top right, though. I like the mellow colors a lot for this one

#3 is also a great picture, I agree that it may look better in BW (as long as the hoody doesnt blend with the bg too much)... These are all done really well, but I thought i'd give you my nitpicks

Very nice shots, I agree with most of the above. Great camera and lens. For the 3rd shot, might have liked to see the feet as the rocks and track work well. S

    Re: Portrait Shot

I really like the first and last ones. I am a big fan of shooting when the subject isn't paying attention. In the second one I would have removed the strand of hair in the little girls face.. but that's minor stuff. Overall great job.

    Re: Portrait Shot

They're all nice. They're not really too posed, more like action grabs. The bottom two are the best though yeah the bottom one is too tight above his head and the second one may be too. They're good and sharp,
