    Summer winding down

    Hey all,

Haven't posted here in quite some time, guess I've been too busy cramming what I can into playtime outdoors.

From my weekend in the Adirondacks... end of a long hard day of play on the last "official" weekend of summer.

I like the BW much better personally. Maybe tone down the blue in the color?

The B&W looks best. It becomes more artistic. Nice job!

    Re: Summer winding down

There's some good things happening here, and a few bad ones:

First of all, I do like both, though the colorful sky seems to overwhelm me a bit. I guess it might be the color of the blue that it is - seems to be just intense enough to dominate. Personally, I wish the subjects were just a little bigger in the frame. The photo is obviously exposed for the sky, silhouetting the people. As pretty as the sky though, I wish I could see more detail on the people. The only way to solve this I think while still retain the composition would be to use a graduated ND filter, but doubt you would have had the time to arrange that here -- sometimes you have to just shoot and hope for the best.
