keeping dslr safe from heat in car during summer

I've come to the conclusion that i will have to keep my D70 in the car this summer.
Any suggestions on how to keep it safe from the heat, or what it can tolerate would be greatly appreciated.

You can't just carry it with you in a backpack or something?

Well, I'd try to find a way to keep it insulated or soemthing. Throw it in a cooler maybe? I have no idea if it would actually help or not. Definetely make sure it's not in direct contact with sunlight.

I've always felt the trunk of a car to be cooler than the interior...so keep it there too.

Gosh, you're asking for it to be stolen though.

Trevor, I would need to keep it somewhere safe from 2p.m-2a.m. I could store it in the shipping office where I work, but I think it would be safer in my trunk.
