Nice mood, quite good actually.
I'm happy that you didn't place the horizon in the middle, a mistake lots of people make.
But I don't like the fake rays of light, I can see how they were added manually, most obvious when you look at the rays on the right side of the image, they're on top of the grass/weeds closest to the camera
You might deny it, that's fine with me, because I can't be convinced
the rays of light to the left are believable because I've seen ones like that but the ones in the foreground detract from the image it takes my eyes away from the pretty good composition you have going on the rich green and the detailed clouds... the overall image looks a smidgen dark to me
hope that was gentle enough post some more...
"I was not trying to be shocking, or to be a pioneer.
I wasn't trying to change society, or to be ahead of my time.
I didn't think of myself as liberated, and I don't believe that I did anything important.
I was just myself. I didn't know any other way to be, or any other way to live.".
That's quite an interesting composition. Between the light and the framing of the cross / tree, it really creates a mood all its own. It's a tad dark in spots but that actually works to create the mood. I don't think I'd change a thing; thanks for sharing this with us!
I SWEAR the rays were not added manually... I didn't even realize what I was photographing, I hoped the atmosphere will work but I was absolutely amazed when I looked at the picture in my monitor (the rays were quite invisible in the LCD)...
All what I did with the picture was a little levels correction in the Photoshop.
