Playing with shallow DOF

Was playing around with my new 50 1.8 to get a feel for the type of DOF you get at 1.8. All of these I was focusing on the eye (or eyes).

Works well doesn't it. Are these cropped or does your cat actually let you get that close?
Mine wouldn't.

Thanks Frog, I like the effect.

The first two had no crop, the last two (same photo, just one BW converted), were a slight crop. This is the original.

He doesn't mind me getting close. The hard part is that eventually he comes over and rubs on the camera.
