Playing with shallow DOF

Was playing around with my new 50 1.8 to get a feel for the type of DOF you get at 1.8. All of these I was focusing on the eye (or eyes).

Works well doesn't it. Are these cropped or does your cat actually let you get that close?
Mine wouldn't.

The first two had no crop, the last two (same photo, just one BW converted), were a slight crop. This is the original.

He doesn't mind me getting close. The hard part is that eventually he comes over and rubs on the camera. :)
