    pink bloom

again inspired by Old timer---trying to work out some DOF experiments...I don't think this one quite got there...but some input would be great...it was shot at ISO 200, f/8, 1/60th handheld on manual mode with a D70...does the crop work ornot...all suggestions welcome

could maybe use some "brightening but I kind liked the darkness...opinions on that too please ;)

    Wondelful pic

Its a wonderful pic. Perfect play of light and shade. I like to soothing color feel and the shallow depth of field effect.

I like to share mine too, but I'm sure its not as good as yours.

    Thanks keep posting

I like it dark too. Have you tried a square crop, and then darkening around the main flower?

Hang on, going to play, not sure I'm explaining well....

keeep posting yours...I think a slightly sharper version of yours would do well...the comp and angle were good and the tiny twilight twinkle....

but thanks on looking and commenting sorry it took so long to respond

    I did try a square

and couldn't get exactly the balance it needed...good idea on the burning in...and it wasn't crappy.

    Nat...

I actually like the one you posted and it barely needs a thing. I like the dark in it and the bits of green just bring out the color. Try this for a crop. Roll the page down so that it hides the top part of your pic just to the edge of the second flower.( the one that has a little green dot on the petal) See how that looks as a crop. It looks good to me, where the little flowers in the back are just implied. If this makes no sense, I'll crop it to show what I mean. It's a beautiful shot.

Nat, I really like the overall image, but the one thing that is buggin me is the dark stamen. The one to the right has suck great light and color, but the one is the middle is kind of dark and my eye goes right to it and I miss the rest of the picture. otherwise, I like the softness and colors!
