    Pine needles

Does the water droplet detract – or does it complement?

    Re: Pine needles

For me I did not notice the water drop at first my eye went straight to the center pine cone. For me the water drop does not add any feature. I would probably add a little more contrast to really have the center pine cone pop. But I'm not sure if you want to emphasize the water drop.
I think if you had the right light hitting it would make the water drop stand out much more.

When you follow the leading lines it gives the eye something to rest on before flowing out of the frame. I like the droplet... it definitely adds to the photo for me.

I think the droplet is the best part of the picture, but I don't care for its placement in the frame, nor the blurring of the cone. A little light glinting off the droplet would have topped it off.

    Re: Pine needles

I like this composition a lot. The placement of the droplet seems fine to me as my eye goes to it naturally.
I'd frame it and hang it if it were mine.

LOL, I read and replied to your thread on N&W before seeing this one! I'm obviously not the only one not being able to make up mind

However, having looked at it a third, fourth and fifth time, I would tend to go with Frog and Jaedon

    Nice work, Alex

Thanks for the replies and comments, they are appreciated. Next time I'll try to get some light to glint off the droplet/s.
