    Pickin'

    I shot a concert put on by a rocking bluegrass group (does that sound odd?) called Hot Butter Rum and was able to get close in with my 200mm to the various musicians. I wanted just the guitar and his hand/arm in this image, so did a bit of burning to achieve what I wanted.

    Rock Bluegrass? No. Damnations TX fit that description.

    Fairly nice concert shot. The light is very nice. Good composition. The copyright text is annoying and superfluous....

    Clayhaus;
    Really good and unusual viewpoint. I think you got a cracking result here. How far were you from the subject?
    How anyone can be 'annoyed' by you little bit of text is beyond me.

    The tight DoF really works well here. I do think the ambient light is a bit too yellow though, and I'd consider a white balance adjustment.

    I'm no music genious, but I'm pretty sure that Guitar is actually a Dobro

    Re: Pickin'

    Here is another shot taking a minute or so later clearly showing that the picker was also slidin'. And, yes, i believe that it is a dobro he was working upon.

    I have left out the "annoying" watermark as well. I looked back many of my previous posts and I have always placed a watermark in the image, which is more or less a general rule of mine. But I also understand that for the purpose of critiquing, watermarks should not be applied to images.

    I like the original much better. Nothing to say but way to go on that one. Yes that is a Dobro. The out of focus hand on the second one is just to distracting.

    the first picture is great,
    really like how the details of the guitar get lost into blackness,
    the floating arm is kind of odd though
