    Pear Tree

Here's one of my first tries at a macro shot. I took several and this one was the best. I'm still not real happy with it though. Any comments on improving it?

I like the composition very much. The clusters of flowers are well-balanced and create a nice visual flow, and the little twiggy things actually add to the interest of the shot (usually they are a distraction in shots like this). The only flaw is that the shot is underexposed by about a half-stop (perhas two-thirds). Just need to brighten it up / make those colors pop more. If you have Photoshop, it's a cinch using the Curves tool.

    Nice work.

Thanks for the comments. I'll have to play around with the Curves tool and see what I can do.

That really reminds me of the peach trees that I have in my yard. The blossoms are beautiful. Here are a couple of pictures I took of my peach threes the other evening.

Your picture looks a bit dark to me, maybe if you boost the contrast and adjust the curves some you can get it looking brighter. I like the composition and really like the content!

I think you are definitely on the right track. As you can probably tell I usually make my pictures kind of dark also. I would also keep taking pictures of those pretty blossoms, they are definitely very photogenic.

I'd like to go try again but they are all gone now. They only last about a week. I guess I'll have to see what I can do next year.

This is a nice pleasing image, much improved with your curves adj. I only would say that maybe instead of a 3.2 apperture a 5.6 or one smaller even might bring a bit more of the bloosms into focus and get the ones already in focus a bit sharper, and would still keep the bg out of focus like it is.. A tripod might then be needed. seeing the shutter speed was already somewhat slow. I do like the image
