Off-balance?

I see two subjects in this image: the dog and the sign. They are very far apart from each other (cause dead space in the middle) that maybe what's giving me to off balence fell. maybe if you change the angle so that the two are closer together it would balence the image.

As it is I don't feel that my eyes are drawn from one subject to the other and so forth which would strengthen the image.

Can you ride Monarch Crest on July 3rd????

I like off center shots and can admit that I'm looking at it because of the title. Thing is, to work an off center image has to be a strong image. I just don't think this one is. I don't really know what you're telling me, so to speak.
