Black and white version is from a couple of monthes ago. The color version is from a different angle and taken today. Opinions welcome, Jeff

Re: Newer version of old setting

I find the photo is really soft looking, not really a focal point that i can see.
you may of taken it like that maybe? but i think if the house was more in-focus it would be better! but i like the 2nd one other than the big light pole right up front.
over all good work tho lots of color in the 2nd one!

It does look soft, almost as if intentionally blurred. I like that effect on the b&w image but not so much with the color one. The pole in the color version is touching the house and I feel moving over to your right just a bit would have brought it left and away from the house. Nice composition otherwise. I prefer the overall comp and look of the b&w version.

That darn lamp pole is a bother in both images. If you could clone it out I would prefer the color shot and composition.
    No, I DON'T need that.

This is taken at an angle that eliminates the light pole. How about this one? I'll see if I can work on the softness problem, Jeff

Much nicer without the lamp cutting the building in half.

It is still soft and looks to be tilted a bit to me.

agree that is a bit soft, which works for portraits but not sure if it works with landscapes..
maybe you can try again with a sharper lens or at different aperture.
    cheers
