    In need of feedback

Not as much what type of lighting to use but if the lighting I used in these was effective or too light and too bright. They are extremes from one side to the other but just wanted to see what the general consensus and thoughts were. Thnaks in advanced for any feedback or opinions

The first was using the light behind, a lamp from the left and the (bulit in) flash from the front

the second was using available porch lights and (built in) flash on the D70

I think you sorta answered your own question. The light on #1 is too strong on her face and the the light on #2 is too weak. I just ordered an SB-800 for the D70. I let you know how it works. I could be just what the doctor ordered for shots like these.

    Re: In need of feedback

The first shot the lighting behind the subject is too bright and washed out looking. The second shot I like as it is. the lighting is somewhat dramatic as it lights up her eyes and face but is not too much. Not a flattering portait type model light, but I like the effect of it. The porch lights certainly helped to keep it from having too much of that "flash" look.
