This is a nice moment and sweet catch. Technically, the only issue here for me is the background is brighter than the subjects, but still they are in good focus and your being tightly cropped on them helps bring them out.
A couple of fine looking ladies you have, and too bad about coming in 2nd
I have a couple of ladies in my home and a new little tike that screams for attention

Nice image, the moment is what is most important in this one.

Good point by Gary. It may be dangerous for the background to be the brightest, as it can steal attention from the subject.

I like the shot for a lot of reasons, mainly the capturing of a moment. Compositionally wise though, her head being clipped like that and also the cat's just barely squeezing into the frame makes it appear clumsy. Maybe a vertical formatted photo would have worked better. But with shots like this, you often need to take them immediately!

I love this picture! I can totally relate to it. It captures a great moment. I took pictures of one of my girlfriends with her cat right before it was taken to be put down. Those are some of my favorite personal pictures. Every time I skim through my pictures I look those over. I want to try to post one.

Excellent picture. It is really touching and very natural, no lighting tricks or anything. Good Job.
