My last day at the beach.

It's been a while since I've been able to visit the boards, if any one remembers me. I moved from Florida up to Kentucky, and I'll be going up to Mass in about a month. Pretty busy times. Here are two pictures from my last day in Florida I thought I'd share.

Thanks for looking, and I'll try to check out and reply to others work, aswell.

i really like the second one. the high contrast of foam/sand splitting the image while keeping a central focal point is very well done. i also like that the split wasn't captured at exactly corner-to-corner, it seems to give it a stronger sense of motion for me (as if it was on its way to or coming back from that point)

I remember you. These photos are great. I love the detail in both. Sigh, if I could only do something that came close to these, I'd be ecstatic!

Hey Pose, I'm glad to see that you are back.

I can't complain about your first picture, I think that it is well crafted but I have seen too much of those recently (it's my problem I guess, it has nothing to do with the quality of your picture).

The second picture truly have the "wow" factor to me! It is clean, simple and very effective. I like the lighting, the colors and the texture of the sand is quite stunning.
I like the way you have composed it too.

    regards

    Seb

And i am glad you are back if this is a sample of your work. Both terrific but second the best.Would be ideal for selling toothpaste or some kind of perfume. You should offer it to some of the agencies.

    Jared...

Great shots from my home state! The first shot is good, but once I looked at the second one, I couldn't look at anything else. It's simple and elegant. Since I have lived in Fl all my life, I have taken similar shots, but there is something about yours that just stands out. Honestly, one look at it and you think FLORIDA. I'm just getting ready to go on a trip around the whole coast of Fl and hopefully can get a shot that even comes close to that one. I know, not to smart to travel the coast in hurricane season. lol Hope to see more of your work, it's very simple and nice.

the second one (foam, sand and a little bush) is near perfect.

i wonder, would the suggestion of movement be enhanced by have the bush off-center? ---have the foam/bush more to the left just a bit? of course this could also throw-off the nice balance that you have.

just a thought. again, very nice photo.

Hey, thanks for all of the positive responses. I feel I have improved a lot over a month or two, and it's nice to know (based on your comments) that you'd agree. Glad to be back, by the way. I look forward to seeing everyones work, and sharing my own.

Hello Pose, I'm new here, nice to meet you!

I *love* the second one. It is perfect! You know where I can see it? Framed on the wall in someone's classy beach-themed room. You don't have a series of them, do you?

Hey I have to go with number 2 also. love the texture and the way the water/foam is wrapping around what ever that thing is. Nice diagonal though the picture. I'm a KY land lover so I don't get around the ocean often. What part of the KY are you in?

I'm staying in Rockcastle county (Mt. Vernon/Renfro area) with my sister at the moment, helping her move into Lincoln. It's a..huge change compared to where I'm from..Miami, but I guess I'm doing ok so far. I'll enjoy it more once I get to explore with my camera, I'm sure.

Thanks for looking, and nope..no series here. Too bad I didn't think more into this when I still lived near the ocean, lol.

Don't know how long you will be there, but if you are in that area in October you are going to love the fall colors. That area of KY is beautiful in the fall.
