    I'm no expert, but I think maybe cropping it a bit to make the center of the flowe in the center of the frame would help it out a bit. Also, other little part of the other flower you see are jsut distracting, I'd say to get it along and u'd have a treasure ;-)

    OMG, I have shots from last year which are scarily identical to yours. I don't claim to be a pro at it but here are few things that I have learned since then:

    Avoid indoor artificial lighting. Correct me if I am wrong but it looks like this flower was shot inside under incadescent ligthing. There is an orange/yellowish cast to the picture.

    Early morning light seems to be especially flattering to flowers. Colors usually turns out especially well and you can catch delicate play of light and shadow on the petals.

    The widest arperture possible usually works well with flowers. For instance you could have blurried the main flower surrounding which currently looks busy.

    Try plenty of angles. Sometimes odd angles leads to surprising results.

    That is pretty much everything I can think of right now
