    I'm thinking it isn't quite sharp enough and the fish head is a bit too close to the center of the frame.

    I agree with MB1 about the sharpness and centering. I've tried taking pictures of my fish a lot, and I have yet to get something really good. They won't stay put (though they do slow down considerably in cold weather), and its difficult to focus through the water.

    Anyway, keep trying!

    The colors are very striking. the water has a purple tint to it and reacts well with the yellows in the KOI? I agree about the sharpness here. Could be cropped to a better feeling composition, but ultimately the lack of sharpness hurts this.
