    More Barns

Jeez, if you like barns, you should move to the Palouse, they are in seemingly infinite supply. I had a hard time figuring out how best to crop this shot. The original has more cloudy sky and more foreground grass. Any thoughts?

    Re: More Barns

The thing I personally love about this shot is how the color of the barn is almost identical to the color of the grass. Pretty good composition, and, to be honest, I have NO idea how to crop this one

Maybe no crop is a good crop,

I like the crop you have as it is -- and what a fascinating shot! The barns almost blend into the color of the fields, giving the whole thing an organic effect, emphasized by the darkness and distance of the mountains in the back ground. I think I would tinker the contrast in the foreground just a bit, but looks very interesting as is.

P.S. -- I also love the little splotch of color of the farm machinery holding your attention to the center of the photo, then drawing it back again as your eye wanders through the scene -- neat!

I agree with everyone. I also really like the lines on the grass. They do a good job at defining the shape of the surface.

I really like this one too. Just up the contrast and you'll be amazed.

I would love to see this a lot bigger as the size here does not do it justice.
In this case I like the barns being almost a similar colour to the surrounding fields. Consequently the reds of the machinery become very important. What a pity one or two of the machines were not out in the fields at work and then we would have a cracker. Very nice indeed.
