I really like the colours against the snow which you have exposed for perfectly. The third one is my favourite but if only that horse just moved to the left of the frame the composition would be improved greatly. Looks like a lovely place where you are.
Great sharp results all round. Could I ask what camera (is it a Canon 300D?)

Thanks for the snow covered Wisconsin Barn photos! Still only ice this (well a little snow) far south.

The first of three is my personal choice. You've used the space within the frame well: specifically including the tree gives it more richness in color and setting. The tree limbs draping across the snow give it some depth and (maybe not a good word) richness. The limbs accent the barn and the rest of the photo.

My biggest comment on the other two is that the fences detract simple because they both cut the image apart for no reason. The second barn (dark boards) appears to have lost a little detail and contrast.

I'd crop the third photo along a horizontal just below the horse and vertically just to the left of the barn/garage and boat. Might even increase the saturation of the green in the boat. The trees are too dark to add much within this image.

I've looked at you other posting from your drive and want to think on them a while yet.

Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions, they are greatly appriciated!

Tom, Yes, that is the camera I'm using, the Digital Rebel. The lens I was using in the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro.

    Thanks again!

    Re: Snow and barns

I like how the fences criscross across the bottom of the second one, and its the best in my opinion because its just a good composition, its just good. The ripped up tree in the top one is a bit destracting, its kind of competing for the focus of the shot, which should probably be the barn.
The bottom one has too much distraction, like the boat, the horse and really complicated vegetation.

    I really like #2!
