    Model shoot

here are some pictures of Kylie she is playing one of the leads in our movie,

We shot these with a regular sony digital camera and a wide angle lense and use a roll of white paper I don't remember what kind it was but it was about 100 dollars a roll,

Although we don't have all the pro equipment we tried to make these look as proffessional as possible

    what do you think?

We used reflect light and bounced off of the floor to illuminate the subject and the final edit was done in Photoshop to make the white background a solid white and get rid of the unwanted shadows.

Some feedback would be much appreciated

    Re: Model shoot

I think they're in general well done, but something seems off with the studio compositions and/or dress.

The first one with the model looking behind her in the chair - why is she wearing a bulky jacket inside? The background is white and it seems a bit odd that she's wearing all that black clothing and jacket. The lighting seems too strong and doesn't add any mystery here, a slight waste considering you have a red-haired model who are usually quite mysterious. I do like the white background, but the elimination of the shadows seems a bit sad.

Photo #2: well done, but doesn't provide anything for the viewer to get ahold of. You can't see her face very well and the coat isn't very interesting. The lighting, where its brighter at the top than the bottom, is neat. But I think you could have exaggerated it a little more?

Photo #3. Again, overexposed. The hair in her face is distracting, and the pose, while a bit of a tease, makes it a wrong outfit/wrong pose combination.

Sorry to be so negative... I think you have a lot of good things happening, but they seem to miss with me for the reasons described. My biggest suggestion would be to watch the exposure: try some expts where you underexpose a few shots, see what happens............ Since its digital, you don't have to worry about wasting film.

    Re: Model shoot

Thats OK we did this as a photoshoot for the wardrobe section of our website hence the white background. We wanted the pictures to look like semi-professional magazine cover pictures. The director of the movie opted for the more dramatic lighting. In these photos we were focusing mor on the clothes than the girl although she is very beautiful. All of the outfits in the photos will be used when we are shooting. The camera we did it with was a digital camera that cost about 200 dollars. I appreciate the fact that you didn't beat around the bush and you told it how it is thank you for the pointers and I will keep them in mind for when we shoot again.

We are doing everything (including) the movie on a zero budget adn so far we have yielding good results. I will post some more pics a little later,

Any tips on how to make the pictures look like magazine pictures
